Fantastical Mac Calendar Giveaway

Fantastical is an all new calendar for Mac, which works as a (beautiful) front end for iCal, Outlook or Entourage. It joins applications like Twitter for Mac and Wunderlist atop the pile of beautifully designed Mac software – but it offers a lot more than just good looks.

The developer, Flexibits, has created a unique language parsing engine which allows users to write events in normal English, which are then converted into calendar events. For instance simply typing ‘lunch with Steve on Thursday at Luigi’s Pizza‘ automatically inputs an event description, date, time and location. This becomes incredibly useful, especially when used with Fantastical’s customizable keyboard shortcuts: you’ll find yourself adding calendar events with just the keyboard, which is considerably more convenient than iCal or Outlook. Fantastical sits in your menu bar until it’s opened by clicking the icon or with a shortcut, and it shows all of your upcoming calendar events color coded and highlighted appropriately.
